Note that this patch can be applied to only to a WLSE with Release 2.13. Important Note ============== Install this patch if you have a WLSE with Release 2.13, or after you upgrade your WLSE to Release 2.13. What the files contain ====================== WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049.zip -- WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049 patch file. WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049.info -- Information file for importing the upgrade image to the WLSE internal repository. WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049-Readme-V1.txt -- This readme file. What bug fixes have been added to this patch? ============================================= CSCse02049 LANMR: Apply patch after upgrading/restoring to 2.13. DBObjAgent bails out while loading from DB if there is even a single instance of mismatched data. This has been observed in field. Symptoms were, after upgrade: 1. RPG does not work at all 2. RPG comes back with null exception 3. RPG never seems to complete from ARSS Who should install this patch? ============================== + All customers running 2.13 version of WLSE + Customers planning on upgrading to 2.13 should upgrade to 2.13 and install the patch Note: The patch can be applied anytime after upgrading to 2.13. It is recommended however, that the patch be applied right after the upgrade. Without the patch, RPG & ARSS might fail or provide sub optimal results. This applies only to Release 2.13. Patch Install Sequence ====================== 1. Login as the admin user via Telnet or SSH. 2. Apply the WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049 patch. See the sections "How to install this upgrade....." below. How to install this upgrade using a Microsoft Windows 2000 machine ================================================================== Note: If redundancy between two WLSEs is enabled, redundancy should be disabled first from the active WLSE. Use WLSE CLI "show redundancy" and "redundancy off". Apply the patch to both WLSEs. After completing the patch install on both, enable redundancy on the original active WLSE via the WLSE CLI "redundancy on". 1. Download the WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049.zip file. 2. Extract the file to any empty directory (for example, \) on your Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000 or Windows XP server. This server will function as the Repository. 3. Open a command window and run subst \ This virtual drive () is removed after rebooting or restarting the Microsoft Windows machine. Check "subst /?" for more information. 4. Open using Windows Explorer (or My Computer). 5. If the drive opens and "Autoplay" is enabled, autorun.bat will run automatically. If not, double-click autorun.bat. 6. A browser displays the Appliance Update screen. Minimize this window. 7. Log in to the WLSE as the admin user via Telnet or SSH. Note: Telnet is disabled by default 8. Enter the CLI install mode by executing the CLI command "install". In the install mode, configure the repository server using the "configure url" subcommand as follows: install: configure url http://:9851 where "ipaddress" is the IP address of the Windows Server. 9. Install the patch using the "update" install command as follows: install: update WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049 It may take 10-15 minutes for the patch install to complete. Optional: Log in to the WLSE web GUI and go to Administration>Appliance>Software page to confirm the patch was installed. How to install this upgrade using the WLSE repository server ============================================================ Note: If redundancy between two WLSEs is enabled, redundancy should be disabled first from the active WLSE. Note: Do not unzip the WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049.zip file. 2. Log into WLSE as the admin user via Telnet or SSH. Using the "repository" CLI command, configure the FTP host and pathname. repository source ftp:/// where is the hostname of the remote FTP server and is the complete directory path where the upgrade zip file and upgrade info file have been placed. 3. List the contents of the source using the "repository" CLI command. The command requires a valid username and password on the remote FTP server. repository list remote 4. Add the upgrade image to the local repository. The command requires a valid username and password on the remote FTP server. This username and password are the same as in the above command. repository add WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049 5. Execute the CLI command "install". In the install mode, configure the repository server using the "configure url" subcommand as follows: install: configure url http://127.0.0.1:9851 6. Install the upgrade using the "update" install command. install: update WLSE-2.13-CSCse02049 It may take 10-15 minutes for the upgrade to complete. Optional: Log in to the WLSE web GUI and go to Administration>Appliance>Software page to confirm the patch was installed. NOTE ===== On some versions of McAfee's VShield the download of the zip file will stop and stay in a "not responding" state for a long time when "Scan compressed files" is enabled in the "Download Scan" property. Cisco Systems has checked the zip file and its contents against viruses so you may turn off this property for the download.
